Manuka Baby beds are a safe space for your baby to sleep if co-sleeping and can be used inside an existing cot or on any safe, flat surface. They are fantastic as travel beds and can be reused as your family grows.
Our infant beds are safe for your baby, and safe for the planet. We individually safety-test every Manuka Baby product and use sustainably sourced, renewable materials.
We welcome enquiries from health organisations and are happy to discuss custom pricing for larger orders.
We all have fond memories of family road trips and weekends at the bach, so we designed Manuka Baby beds to travel with you! Manuka Baby beds are portable and easy to set up - all you need is a flat, stable surface.
Your family will love it now and for years to come.
Manuka Baby’s triple-layer bamboo beds are a space-saving, portable option for home and travel. They’re a safe way to keep baby close to you while they sleep, and are a more environmentally friendly option than similar plastic products.
Our easy-to-use beds replace the need for a bassinet or port-a-cot, and are perfect for families on the go. They could even be used instead of a change table. Manuka Baby beds are constructed from lightweight, durable bamboo and are thoroughly quality checked to stand the test of time.
Manuka Baby products are made as sustainably as possible, using renewable materials wherever we can. Our beds are made of triple-layer bamboo, locally and sustainably sourced in Zhenge County, Fujian.
We’d love to offer a fully New Zealand-made product, but unfortunately, until we start growing bamboo forests here, that just isn’t possible! We have a great relationship with our Fujian growers, and also use their bamboo for our soft waterproof mattress covers. Our sheet sets are 100% jersey cotton.
We have worked closely with several New Zealand DHBs (District Health Boards) to ensure all Manuka Baby products meet SUDI Prevention recommendations. Learn more on our Safety Standards page.
Most of us have heard the terms “cot death” and “SIDS” (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). These days, the death of a baby under 12 months old in their sleep is often described as Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI). The term SUDI is a blanket term to cover SIDS (where investigations can’t find a cause of death), fatal sleeping accidents (where babies suffocate or are strangled by something in their sleeping environment) or sometimes where the death can be explained, for example, by a serious illness or medical condition the baby was born with.
Safe sleeping practices can reduce the risk of SUDI. Please look at our Safety Standards page for more information. Also, in our Useful Links section, you can find some wonderful, very detailed information on safety and many other newborn baby topics from professional organisations involved in this very important field.
Beautifully sustainable products.
Bamboo is an incredible resource; it’s sustainably grown, naturally antibacterial and antifungal and does not require pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilisers. Bamboo is also doing its part to save the planet; it produces more oxygen than trees, protects against soil erosion, and absorbs carbon dioxide from the air.
When it comes to construction, bamboo has just the right qualities for a great baby bed. It’s lightweight and flexible, but has a higher compression strength than concrete and higher tensile strength than steel!
